nathan jolly

Birmingham born, Nathan Jolly is the newly-acclaimed writer and broadcaster to join the Birmingham Mail.

Hospital Radio

Nathan Jolly is a hospital radio broadcaster known for his fast-paced, interviewing style "perfectly blended with just the correct amount of humour". In February of 2008, Nathan Jolly hosted a charity race live on the radio and on stage to the 4,000 runners and spectators. The race was delayed due to Nathan's stand-up comedy that left the 4,000 runners "in hysterics".

In a local newspaper, runner Keith Frenchurch said, "We weren't expecting to have anyone hosting the event but the guy on stage [Nathan] was really good, it was better then something you would get at a higher-profile event and he had us all laughing so much even the man with the starter pistol couldn't stop laughing".

Birmingham Mail

Nathan began writing for the Birmingham Mail in 2008 and his writing is said to have "set the Birmingham Mail website alight". Hailed as "the Birmingham Mail's secret weapon", and "witty and intelligent" by the Birmingham Council, Nathan's writing attracts a large audience every Tuesday on the website, covering a vast array of topics in a "skillfully crafted" balance between hard-hitting truths and though-provoking arguments, all "perfectly encased" in strong ironic humour.
